A bill splitter that keeps nothing.

A bill splitter that keeps your trips on a server needs an account, a password, and a company holding a record of where you went, who with, and what everybody spent. Cashvy keeps that record on your phone instead, and your friends reach it through a link rather than a login.

Every part of it is built against one test: it still has to work with the phone in airplane mode and every server switched off. Adding an expense, splitting it, settling up and reading a receipt all happen on the phone. The one thing that needs a network is a friend joining from a browser — and even then, what travels is sealed so that nothing in the middle can read it.

The app, the web page your friends join on, the relay that introduces them, and this site are one repository under the MIT licence: you may read it, run it, change it and ship your own.

The repository is not public yet. It will be at github.com/Soul-Archive-Limited/cashvy. Nothing in it has been externally reviewed, and Cashvy has not been released.
